Long time since I've posted.....

I have been a very bad blogger....I know, I know.....but guess what??? Im on school holidays!! Yeah!! Which hopefully means I will be a good blogger from now on :)

Well....where do I start?

School - The year finished quickly. I was soo sad to leave my first ever class and found the end of the year pretty hard. I had the most amazing bunch of kids this year. Reports went out easily with no hassles and my presentation to the 4 members of school staff went well. It went so well that I was asked to present my powerpoint to the whole staff (which was quite an honour, and had not been done by a graduate before) so I was very happy although nervous, but that went fine too! :) So now I am officially a registered teacher!! Yea!!! I met my kids for next year, I have a few challenges infront of me, but I am hoping the experience I gained this year will allow the year to run more smoothly, and hopefuly less stressful. But we will see! My aim is to spend less time at school next year, as I really felt like I lived there this year.

Christmas - Well Christmas has come and gone quickly....we make such a fuss over christmas and then it is over so quickly! I made some gorgeous calendars for a few of the teachers at school who have given me support this year.

I made 3 of them they all had a similar design (egL the flower template and quote) But each of them had different pp, and I chose the quotes appropriate to the teachers.

Spent most of Dec once school finished catching up with friends and family to celebrate the festive season. Was so nice to relax and spen time with everyone.

I was spoiled for christmas and off Clint I got a curler, watch and are waiting on a new sewing machine with a trolley and all !!! (its on order). Mum said she will get me a storage trolley thingy for my scrapping supplies. And Dad said he will pay the remainder of the Scrap Patch Retreat!! I feel very lucky!!

Scrapping - Well I scrapped for me for the first time in ages tonight. Well sorta for me, it is for the Dec 1,2,3 Challenge that Charmane is running. Follow the link to her blog in the sidebar and you can read about it there. I will post a direct link shortly to my entry. My brother got a new dog for christmas and it is so cure, her name is Candy and she is a Maltese/Shitzu cross Pug. She is just adorable.

Well it is just on midnight and I have to get up and get organised to go camping in Echuca in the morning. I am a bit scared because it is 'proper' camping, so I may come back in pieces!! haha. We are going for New Years so I will be back on the blogger after that!!

I hope everyone has a great year, its time to think of some resolutions!!! I will post mine in the new year.

Another Scrap Patch layout

Well life is quite busy at the moment, and I am really trying to make sure I have time to scrap, but its not really happening :(

School at this time of the year seems to be crazily demanding. For one, I have a presentation to a board of colleagues next week, so they can determine if I will be a registered teacher (I'm a P plater teacher now haha). So I said I would do a powerpoint (they havent had anyone at my school do them for this purpose before) but I have not even started that yet!!! And secondly, reports!! using the new a-e system, very full on I must say! Soo my scrapping is becoming less and less at the moment, but its all good.

It was Clint and I's 4 year anniversary last night and we went out for tea at the restaurant we went to on our first date. It was nice but he was a bit disappointed cos earlier yesterday morning he booked us in for tea there thinking it would be a nice surprise, and then an hour later I messaged him suggesting we go there for tea. So I wrecked it !! We must have been thinking on the same wave length (haha scary!!)

Carmen and I are soo excited because Karens Scrapping Kupboard had the chipboard words from Stuff to Scrap there for $1.65!! What a bargain!! So we put an order through together, and I will get to get them from the post office tomorrow! You will be seeing them more and more in my pages now :)

The other night at my lss, I completed a page the
Scrap Patch. I have been really letting loose with my scrapping style lately I am not sure if I like it or not yet though....I'll have to see. This was a page about my first car 'Burley' who is currently sitting out the front of my house with a For Sale sticker on it, but no-one seems to want her :( She is the best really!!!)

Well I am hoping to get some stuff done for a dt I am going to have a go for....I think I may run out of time though.
I have not had any luck so far subbing, but I have only subbed bout 8 pages in total to a few different mags. I guess I will just have to be patient, maybe I have not quite got that something extra they are looking for, hmm...not sure.

Well I best be off cos we are going out for tea with friends.
Will hopefully update again soon.

Dylan Hartung scrapping fundraiser

Well myself, Carmen and my aunty had a fantastic weekend in mornington. The fundraiser for Dylan was very sucessful with just over $10,000 being raised!! Still cannot believe that is how much was raised, its quite a large amount considering there was only just over 100 people there. The friday night we just spent relaxing and getting our things organised for the fundraiser. At the fundraiser I finished one page (you can see attached to the post), and just spend the rest of the time chatting and watching everyone else, haha. There was too much to see I could not sit long enough to actually scrap.

After the fundraiser we headed over to Paper2 in mornington, I am always blown away by the size when I go there. We ended up doing the 7pm - midnight super crop and had a good time as we were able to shop if we needed to there. At midnight we headed back to Mandys van and scrapped til 5am!!! I spend that time scrapping on the wooden letters. I did a c and r and then began ones for our house, saying H O M E.....so they should be nice when they are done

Have not done much else since then, work was crazy and I had a mini-breakdown at the start of the week (I dont think being mega tired helped!) and are still feeling tired from wearing myself out then. So I dont think I will be up to much, recouperating, and cleaning this house!!!

I was chosen as one of three Wildcard entries at Embellished, I was bummed to get out so quickly and was happy when the DT chose me to have another go. You can find my new entry here.....we had to use beading of some sort and stitching. I am happy with it, and I think it prob reflects the way I felt at the start of the week :)

Well I payed my deposit for the Scrap Patch retreat in early March next year. It is right around the time of my birthday so it should be a nice weekend, I always have a ball at them!!

Well I am gonna leave now cos I only have 1/2 an hour to get ready to go out for tea....

New layout for Scrap Patch

Well nothing too interesting to post at the moment. Have not been up to much at all. Well I was not successful with the Little Scrapbook Shop DT but considering who I was up against and who the scrapping Dt pick was no wonder!! Celeste was the lucky chosen one and her stuff is just fab!! Click on her name to view her Little Scrapbook Shop gallery. Celeste has a special feature in the new SC, you can spot her pages anywhere with those cute little girls!!!

Anyways last night was a very quiet one. I made tea (yes on a sat night that is unusual!!) then settled down to do a page for The Scrap Patch . I am really happy with how it turned out. I'm happy with how it turned out....bit different.

Not much else on the scrap front from me, though I did get the new Elsie book from Embellished and I just love it!! Also picked up a few alphas and things at their 30% off sale last week. On Friday (??I think) I put an order in with BB, they had 75% off selected Lil Davis items. The gorgeous flowers with words like little one, love blooms etc were $1.95!! Picked up a few of them, cant wait til they come.

Also Mandy, Carmen and I are going to the fundraiser in Frankston for Dylan. It should be a great day and hopefully a lot of money will be raised. Cant wait for another weekend of just scrapping!!

Take care Raquel xoxox

Back to school.....

Well the first week back at school was nice, I was actually missing the kids too, so it was great to see them all again. So much to do and cover during the next 5 weeks before reports are written!! I'll be running around like a headless chook at school for a while.

I have found I am making a conscious effort to have lots of ME time lately. I really tried this week not to spend hours and hours at school after the kids had left. Now I am not quite sure if I succeeded because it is only the first week back, or if it is because I actually can leave at a decent hour becuase the whole classroom wont fall apart if I am not there!! haha....hmm not sure yet. Anyway back to scrapping! I found myself scrapping sun, mon, tues and wed night this week!! That is a hige effort for me. I completed 3 Everyday Moments comp layouts, 1 double layout and one layout for the Embellished Idol competition. Which I found out this morning I am into Round 3!!! I cant wait to do round 3, the topic is minimalist. Not sure how I will go doing this style myself but I love seeing other peoples minimalist pages.

Well I ended up applying for the Little Scrapbook Shop Dt, we find out at some stage tonight. But I am sure there is a lot of talented people applying so I have not gotten my hopes up!!

Also wanted to congratulate someone (names are not being disclosed on the site) for making it through to the third round on Scrapboxx Search for a DT member (You know who you are :) ) I can spot your layouts anywhere!! haha. Well done!!

Well I am off to make a card for a friends bday....I'm leave you with my recent double layout... I will have to make a separate post for my EDM layouts

That layout I promised.....

Well I thought I would post those layout I was talking about from Mandy and I's week away.....
This is one of my faves I have done of Clint using the
Stuff2Scrap chip words I wrote about in my previous post....

The other layouts that I completed on the trip away I found I wanted to sew, either by hand or machine. On most pages!! I have always been a fan of machine stitching but hand sewing!!! My pages will take me a lot longer now if that is going to be my 'new thing'.

I have been contemplating applying for the Little Scrapbook Shop DT.....not quite sure yet but I only have two days to decide as the position entries close Sun night.....think I might send a couple from when I was away. They are asking for 3 layouts and one OTP.....hmmm will need to have a think about it.

Well I posted yesterday that I wanted to get some things ready for school....and GUESS WHAT!?!? I actually did!! I did half of my analysis for VIT, got some timetables for parent helpers, computers, etc up and running and finished, and..did my work program for first week back so I know what I am doing.....so wrapped!! Now today I need to finish my VIT and then I have the weekend to relax and scrap!!! Yeah!!!! Think I might get stuck into that soonish so I can pop to the shopping centre and pick up some things....might pop into the Reject Shop too...apparently they have cheap chipboard products ATM...will have to check it out and see.

Well best be off, take care

Exciting news !! & Little holiday to Mornington

Wow!! I have some pretty exciting news!! I am now the newest Scrap Patch DT member!! I am so excited!!! I really never thought I would be lucky enough to be chosen to be a part of a DT, so I am very wrapped!!! Plus the girls at Scrap Patch are just lovely, and I have a fantastic time at their Scrap Retreats!! I was really proud of my DT entry, here it is....

Well I thought I would write a little bit about my trip with Mandy and the little girls to Mornington. We stayed from Tues to Fri (which was a nice long break from everything) and scrapped our hearts out. It is fantastic at the van because it is really a family park so the two girls just went and played with the other children at the park, leaving Mandy and I to scrapbook.

On the way to Mornington, on the Tues we called into Paper2 in Mornington. Wow....is that store huge. I actually found it overwhelming as it was soo big, and began to get a headache by the end of it. It wasn't that the store had things I had never seen before, because it didnt really. But it did have everything in the one store, which is very rare, unless it is a net based shop. I didnt really buy anything exciting, I got a few more papers (like I need anymore!) and lots of lettering (stickers, rub ons, etc). One thing I was soo excited about was they had lovely chipboard words there for $2.50, words like love, adore, soulmate, baby, etc. The words are made by an aussie company Stuff2Scrap, and I am hoping I can get my LSS in Geelong to stock up on them. I find I will only buy the scrap FX words if I really really love them as they are a lot more pricey.
When we got to Mandy's van we basically started scrapping right away!! Was just fantastic and for some reason I was more inspired than usual. And surprisingly enough, so was Mandy!! From the Tues to the Thur we hardly ever left the van, only to go grocery or scrap shopping...it was so nice to relax and not think about school and work I need to do for next term.

Not sure of plans for the weekend with the footy final and all that. Have to really get stuck into my VIT Registration real soon!! :( Hopefully I get that out the way so I can spend Sunday scrapping.

Will post again soon.....*Raquel*

Some layouts from the last two weeks....

More layouts from the last two weeks.
I'm really proud of my scrapping lately and have not been stressing as much when I am scrapping (which used to result in pages taking me hours and hours). Now I am doing things quicker and have been happier with the results. For example, my 'you and me' layout was one that I actually painted the blackground cs, both the edges and around the striped pp. This is not something I would have done before.

* I really had fun with this layout and was thinking I might sub it to one of the mags, I think I read a recent "Geometric Shapes" call in one of the mags. Not sure, will have to do a search.
I still want to post my layouts from Mandy and I's scrapping frenzy....will do that tomorrow most likely. Mandy is so inspired lately to the point where she messaged me this morning and was scrapping at 9.30!! Thats definately new for her.
Well I will post again tomorrow with my newest layouts

My Scrapping pressies for people...

Thought I would post some piccies of a canvas I recently made for a friends 2 yr olds birthday. Also on a retreat I went to with my aunty and The Scrap Patch my aunty was saying how she wanted me to make her something special. The girls from their gave me some mini album covers so I finally made my aunty a special book for her birthday There were more pages to it but I only put a few pics here. So here are my scrapping goodies..... these are from last weeks efforts.

I went on a scrapping spree with my aunty and will post those creations later....with some added thoughts regarding how much fun we had. The shop Paper2 in mornington .... WOW is all I can say!!!

The School Holidays!! Bring on some scrapping!

Yeah!!
School Holiday Time = More scrapping!! AND Shopping!! & TIME!!

Spent yesterday making a mini album for my darling aunty (will post pics after I give it to her) and finished off my DT layout entry for
The Scrap Patch. Don't ask me why I am bothering applying for DT's when I have never even subbed to mags before....not even sure I stand a chance if that is the case.

I have vowed to sub some of my recent layouts over the holidays, hopefully I keep that promise.

Been on net heaps looking at blogs, I'm ADDICTED!! Its amazing how much you can learn about someone, its like you really know them! haha.

The layouts below are from a recent DT position I tried for and was shortlisted but not successful :( I think I might try including these in my subbing spree over the holidays! haha

I'll try to take some photos of my recent creations soon.....off to have a cofee with Carmen, and go shopping.

Take Care * Raquel*

My first post!!

Wow! How exciting! I thought I might join everyone else in the scrapping world by creating my own blog.
I am lost at the moment and not even sure how to do any of this but I will slowly work through this program and find my way around.
Probably wont post again for a while, but want to find out how to add links and things.....haha hopefully I wont be here all day!
I'll leave you with a piccie of me to let you all know what I look like....will try to add a new post with my latest layouts sometime today!
