You are Loved - A Layout Share

Hey Everyone

Today I am sharing my latest layout which features the stunning Notes & Things collection by Crate Paper. This collection just had me right away and I couldn't help but purchase the papers and coordinating embellishments.

Layout title: You are loved

Products Used:
Paper: Crate Paper 'Notes & Things', My Minds Eye vellum, plain vellum, white card stock
Embellishments: Crate Paper 'Notes & Things' die cuts, labels, stickers, tags and gold foil tape, My Minds Eye enamel dots, Studio Calico sticker, D'lish Scraps peg, white doily
Other: Sewing Machine, white thread, date stamp, black ink.

I love to layer and create dimension and clusters, but still maintaining a sense of balance and design on my pages. This paper led perfectly to this design and I was happy with how it turned out

It was recently featured in the 'gold foil' gallery of Jot Magazine Issue 8.

It's a layout all about how loved my little ones are not only by Clint and I but also how much my daughter loves her baby brother.

Hope you like it! I haven't shared a lot lately as I have a lot of secret squirrel projects going on behind the scenes. Hoping I can share more soon :)

I am also pleased to add that I am going to be a Jot Girl again as of 2015!!! So so very happy to be back on the team and so blown away with the talented bunch of ladies that I will have the privilege of working with. You can see the list here

Glitz Design - Classy and Fabulous using 'All Dolled Up'

Hey everyone

This month the Glitz Design kit features the range 'All Dolled Up'. I had not yet had a play with this collection so I decided to have a play and chose a favourite recent photo of Charlotte to scrap with. On this day I had dressed her up for a visit to her Grandma's. She just looked totally adorable, and a lot bigger than her nearly 2 years old.

Layout title: Classy & Fabulous

I thought that 4x6 card from the Bits and Pieces paper was a perfect title and it was then I decided this would be another layout for her 'Life's Lessons' album. It was just one of those photos that I had wanted to scrap.

I love the feminine feel of this layout and I think it is achieved by the colourings in the papers as well as the softness added by the vellum and the doily. I kept the layout simple in design, but layered which I think suits the title well too. I do not think a busy page would have worked or achieved quite the same effect.

A close up of the title, and the accent stickers and giant rhinestone. The 'gold' droplets were created using the new Tim Holtz distress stain spray in 'Tarnished Brass', it has a really gorgeous golden tone.

A layout doesn't seem complete lately without a touch of vellum, a doily and a peg. I recently added to my peg supplies from D-lish Scraps, who now have a large range of colours available. The bow sticker is also from the 'All Dolled Up' collection.

I have some more Glitz projects to share soon and have been working on some other projects I will be able to share in a month or so :)

Thanks for visiting today, having a great weekend!

Inspired by Natalie - A card

Hey everyone

Today I am here to share a card I created for Papercut Labs promo week for Natalie's class 'Flashy Cards Fast'. You can find out about her class here On Sale NOW: Flashy Cards Fast!

The task was to create a card inspired by a layout of Natalie's. I was inspired by this layout created and shared on her blog here . Natalie created it as part of the Instagram challenge called Society 52.

Here is my card. I used the tags as inspiration. I created my own using my avery elle tag die and some white card stock. I also mimicked the layering and used that to embellish the top of my card.

Don't forget to check out the Papercut labs site and find out all about Nat's class.

I got you babe - *Glitz Design*

Today I am here to share with you a layout for the 'day to day' series on the Glitz blog. Well, as I mentioned in a previous post, my day to day life became busier 12 weeks ago now with the arrival of my little boy Jack. So I decided to create a layout all about him and scrap a picture which is a good example of his little life right now…. loving a 'mummy snuggle'.

I decided to have a play with the '77' collection as I had not yet created with it and the blue and orange tones of the collection were really calling my name.

Here is the layout I created:

Here is a close up of some of the dimension and layering. I'm a big fan of foam tape and dots, anything to add that extra bit of dimension.

I decided to use my 'Black & White' collection giant roller doodle in the 'X' design on this page. To create this effect I stamped on a diagonal with versa mark ink. I then used a blue and white embossing powder, I wanted to create a sort of ombre look here. I then set it with my heat tool.

A close up of the journaling which I completed on a card from the 'Bits and Pieces' paper, some stickers and my typewriter.

Embellishing with the giant rhinestones and accent stickers made a great little embellishment cluster.

A final close up of my page:

'Love you' Layout supplies:
Glitz Design “77” papers – Bits & Pieces, Feather, Floral, Stripe
Glitz Design “Black and White” – Giant Roller Doodle X
Glitz Design "77" - Giant rhinestones
Glitz Design "77" - Friday Washi Tape
Other: White cardstock, sewing machine and white thread, tiny attacher and staples, typewriter, foam tape, black doily, embossing powder (blue and white), heat tool.

I hope this page has inspired you today. I had a great time documenting a little moment in Jack's life, I am sure it will be the first of many :)

Glitz Design - Some super quick cards to share!

Hey everyone

Today I am here to share something different to my usual - some cards. I always have the best intentions and proclaim that I will make cards with my leftover supplies, but unfortunately proclaiming it is all I ever usually do.

So I decided to set myself a challenge.
To use my scraps of Glitz papers and my punches to create some cards to give with gifts.

As I am not a cardmaker I did a quick 'card' search on Pinterest to see the types of cards people make and to get inspiration then sat down with my collection of offcuts and punches and got to work. Most of these cards came together quite easily and I was really happy with the end result. And what is better than the satisfaction of using up some of those supplies and papers?

Here is what I created:

And some close ups of each card:

Set of 3 cards supplies:
Glitz Design “Brightside” papers – Bits & Pieces
Glitz Design “Brightside” 6×6 Paper Pad
Glitz Design “Felicity” paper – Chevron
Glitz Design "Wild & Free" - Rubber Stamp set
Other: White cardstock, plain vellum, sewing machine and white thread, tiny attacher and staples, butterfly punches, scallop punches, foam tape.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

In APOCD news, the sale has been announced:

And some sneaks:

Only one day left to apply for the Design Team Call at APOCD too!

Some sneaks…and an update

Hey everyone

Today I am here to share a couple of sneaks of some things I have been working on :)

The September 'A Piece of Cake Designs' scrapbooking kits are shaping up beautifully :) I am in love with both of them and can't wait to start sharing soon. If you have not been following the APOCD blog or Facebook, I am having a design team call which closes on the 15th of this month. You can find out more details on the APOCD blog here

I have a share going up on the Glitz Design blog this Thursday, here's a sneak - something a little different for me:

I also started creating my first page of baby Jack. I used the June Cupcake kit from APOCD, which was perfect for the layout. Heres a glimpse of it, I will be uploading a process video of it soon :)

Life has been all about settling in and finding our feet here. Jack will be 7 weeks old tomorrow, time is just flying by already!

Charlotte is just such a big girl now and doesn't stop talking! She just loves being a big sis :)
I'll be back with full project shares soon :)

Glitz Design - Pie Chart Trend; Celebrate You

Hey everyone,

Today I am here to share a new layout I created for Glitz Designs featuring a 'trend' I have noticed popping up a lot in the scrapbooking world recently and that is pie charts. I am a regular 'pinner' on Pinterest and was inspired by all the layouts I have seen featuring them lately.

The photo I chose to scrap is one of my daughter which really shows her personality and cheekiness.

“Celebrate You” layout supplies:
Glitz Design “Brightside” papers – Butterflies, Circles
Glitz Design “Brightside” 6x6 Paper Pad
Glitz Design “Brightside” 12×12 Sticker Alphas & Accents Sticker Sheet
Glitz Design “Felicity” paper - Honeycomb
Glitz Design Silver Glitter Washi Tape
Glitz Design “77” Giant Rhinestone
Other: White cardstock, plain vellum, doily, sewing machine and white thread, pink thread, tiny attacher and staples, Lawn Fawn sequins, tag, white mini peg, Silhouette Cameo, iheartstudio cut file, Silhouette cut file, pinwheel punch, flower border punch, cloud punch, chevron punch, butterfly punch, foam tape.

Here are some details on how I made the layout:

Because I love layers, I chose to add a few pie pieces of vellum over other pieces and secure these and the others with some machine stitching.

I hid some journaling on a tag behind my photo and added some washi tape folded over to depict a ribbon pull.

I used a variety of punches on this page.

The 12x12 'Brightside' Alphas & Accents sheet teamed with a '77' rhinestone made a perfect title.

Here is a close up look at my pie chart with the vellum and stitching I added.

I hope you enjoyed my layout featuring pie charts. Feel free to hashtag #glitzdesignontrend or tag me @raquelp when sharing on Instagram so I can see your creations!
