Glitz Design - Pie Chart Trend; Celebrate You

Hey everyone,

Today I am here to share a new layout I created for Glitz Designs featuring a 'trend' I have noticed popping up a lot in the scrapbooking world recently and that is pie charts. I am a regular 'pinner' on Pinterest and was inspired by all the layouts I have seen featuring them lately.

The photo I chose to scrap is one of my daughter which really shows her personality and cheekiness.

“Celebrate You” layout supplies:
Glitz Design “Brightside” papers – Butterflies, Circles
Glitz Design “Brightside” 6x6 Paper Pad
Glitz Design “Brightside” 12×12 Sticker Alphas & Accents Sticker Sheet
Glitz Design “Felicity” paper - Honeycomb
Glitz Design Silver Glitter Washi Tape
Glitz Design “77” Giant Rhinestone
Other: White cardstock, plain vellum, doily, sewing machine and white thread, pink thread, tiny attacher and staples, Lawn Fawn sequins, tag, white mini peg, Silhouette Cameo, iheartstudio cut file, Silhouette cut file, pinwheel punch, flower border punch, cloud punch, chevron punch, butterfly punch, foam tape.

Here are some details on how I made the layout:

Because I love layers, I chose to add a few pie pieces of vellum over other pieces and secure these and the others with some machine stitching.

I hid some journaling on a tag behind my photo and added some washi tape folded over to depict a ribbon pull.

I used a variety of punches on this page.

The 12x12 'Brightside' Alphas & Accents sheet teamed with a '77' rhinestone made a perfect title.

Here is a close up look at my pie chart with the vellum and stitching I added.

I hope you enjoyed my layout featuring pie charts. Feel free to hashtag #glitzdesignontrend or tag me @raquelp when sharing on Instagram so I can see your creations!

What has been happening?

Well lots has been happening here.  Little Jack is 4 weeks old today! How time has flown already.

I have grabbed some creative moments when I can - mainly at night when both kiddies are in bed and I have enough energy.

I have created a page I'm really happy with for Glitz Design that I am really excited to share. You will need to check out the Glitz blog on Monday to see it.

I have been really inspired to begin Jacks room and have  been pinning ideas like crazy.  I look forward to sharing this creative process with you too on here.

Little Charlotte's room is pretty much done so I will be sure to share some pics when it is.

Layout Share - Glitz Design 'Carpe Diem'

Hey everyone,

Today I am here to share a layout I created for the 'Day to Day' series on the Glitz Blog. Its a day where the projects focus on the everyday happenings; whether that be through Project Life style creations or regular layouts.

As I shared in my last post, I recently had another baby and have been looking for a way to document his life in an effective but time efficient way. I know this is where the pocket page scrapbooking may suit me, but this search also encouraged me to delve to the apps available on iPhone/android to see what was out there which would support this.

On the search I found the app called Collect. I had read about Collect on other peoples blog and knew it would be perfect for my boys album and also perfect for scrapping. t has the ability to create a sleek and professional looking polaroid image using your cameras photo roll in seconds. You can add the date and some journaling too. Unfortunately this app is only available for iPhone users.  I did email the creators of this app some time ago asking about android but it won't be happening in the immediate future.

Before I begin, this post is not affiliated with the app at all, I just thought it would be cool to share.

So in order to have a practice with the app, I decided to choose something to photograph from my every day and create a layout.. What is a better everyday moment than that first cup of coffee for the day? I printed this out in a 3x4 size, I just love the look it gives.

Here is the layout I created:

And some detailed close up images:

Here I have used a Giant Rhinestone from the Carpe Diem collection too

Extra journaling.

I created lots of layers using the papers from the 'Carpe Diem' 6x6 paper pad.

“Daily Cup" layout supplies:
Glitz Design “Carpe Diem” papers – Paper Polka, Bits and Pieces
Glitz Design "Carpe Diem" 12x12 Sticker Alpha & Words
Glitz Design "Carpe Diem" 12x12 Sticker Titles and Accents

Other: White cardstock, plain vellum, doily, sewing machine and white thread, Freckled Fawn arrow clip, A Piece of Cake Designs wood veneer, Jenni Bowlin mask, Faber Castell Whipped Spackle, Prima enamel hearts, black ink, butterfly punch, foam tape.

I have also created a process video of this, including a little walkthrough of the app.
