Some exciting news and a Glitz Design share

Today sharing a new layout and process video I created for Glitz Design that went live on the Glitz blog on Saturday. Before I share that I have some exciting news :)

I'd like to introduce you to the newest addition to my family, the gorgeous 7 pound 14 ounce bundle of goodness 'Jack William' born on the 23rd July :) Isn't he adorable? As you can imagine we are all just absolutely in love with him, including his big sister Charlotte.

Anyway, todays layout share focuses on die cutting. I will admit right now that I love, love, love my Silhouette Cameo! I think in terms of tools and machines it is by far my favourite scrappy purchase to date :)

I was inspired by the B-side to the 'Honeycomb' paper from the Felicity collection when creating my layout. I loved the watercolour look hearts and thought that the dotted lines represented a machine stitching look.

Below is a process video from the beginning of my layout (using my cameo software) to the finished product. This is only my second ever video so please be kind :) I still have a lot to learn in terms of 'scrappy video making'! I am excited as the new video camera I purchased will mean that the quality and clarity of my videos will improve too :)

Here are the final images of my layout I am sharing today.

“You and Me" layout supplies:
Glitz Design “Felicity” papers – Honeycomb, Floral, Chevron, Bits and Pieces
Glitz Design "Felicity" 12x12 Sheets of Alpha and Accent Stickers.
Glitz Design “77″ Friday Washi Tape
Other: Silhouette Cameo, heart with stars cut file, white cardstock, plain vellum, doily, sewing machine and white thread, tiny attacher and staples, foam tape.

Hope this share has inspired you, I was so excited to share my special news too :)

Scrapbooking Room Tour - as of July 2014

Hey everyone,

Today marks 38 weeks in my pregnancy and I am certainly feeling it by this stage :) Bubs is lowered and I can feel his/her arrival will not be too far away.

I am very much appreciating my quiet time with my girl, before we have another addition to the household.
We had a little shopping trip today to a local electrical store where I purchased a new Camcorder. Something which I had been thinking about getting for a while. It will be perfect to document the kiddies special moments and will also improve the quality of my scrapbooking videos which was very poor.

I decided to 'christen' the camera by doing a Scrapbook Room tour on my YouTube channel

Here are the 'rusty' videos of my new room space. I did not pre-plan these vids so my room is pretty much as it is, nothing was tidied in preparation for the filming. So it is as it is, real :)

I had to upload in two parts due to YouTube restrictions.

PART 1

PART 2

I find I am always changing and adapting my organisation to suit my needs. I love watching other room tours on YouTube and pinning scrapbook room ideas. It is always great to see what others do and see ideas for things that may work for me.

I'm happy to answer any questions, just leave a comment here or on my YouTube comment feed if you have any :)

I'll be back soon with more shares, including a process video for Glitz Design (pre new camera).

Take care, xxx

Blog Hop with a twist

I feel very humbled to have been asked by Tarrah to join in this blog hop with a difference.

I love Tarrah's work and feel honoured to be included in her list of blogs to share with you all. I have been fortunate to work with Tarrah on the D-lish team and meet her at the Escape to Create retreat in Port Lincoln in March this year.  She was just as lovely in real life as she is online! Be sure to check out Tarrah's gorgeous work and get to know her some more HERE.

Here is the part of the hop where you get to know a little bit about me :)

Getting To Know Me

1. What am I working on right now?
Currently I am working on my Glitz Design projects, finalising a Masters project and trying to get a little ahead before Bubby 2 arrives.

Here is a peek into my table right now: Lots of new release Glitz being played with!

2. How long does it take to complete a project?
I can take anywhere between 1 and a half hours to 4-5 hours to complete a layout. Sometimes I plan a layout in my head for a few days other times a layout will just fall together with little planning or thought. If I am using my Silhouette Cameo, it will normally take me a longer duration as I take time to plan and find the cut files I am needing.

3. What are my favourite things to create with at the moment?
I have a few 'signature style' elements to my scrapbooking currently which I find I am always adding to my pages.

1/ White Card stock
2/ Doileys
3/ Vellum
4/ Typewritten journalling
5/ Machine stitching.
6/ Silhouette Cameo cut files

Brand and products wise I love anything Glitz Design (of course!) and anything under the American Crafts banner always appeal to me.

4. How does my creative process work?
Normally I begin a layout with my photo or a story I want to tell. From that photo or story I then choose my products and embellishments. I normally reach for products which appeal to me and these are mainly newer items I have added to my stash. I now know that if I do not use products as soon as I get them, that I find I may not use them.

Once I have my papers, I then grab all the embellishments that match and coordinate. I will always have far too many embellishments out in front of me, but I like to add clusters of embellishments so I like to have all possible choices that will work with my layout in front of me.

I will normally finish a page with stapling a few areas or machine stitching in a white thread.

5. How do I become inspired and stay inspired?
I certainly can thank the internet for being able to stay or become inspired. I find if I am browsing an online gallery, pinterest, or even Facebook, the inspiration really is never-ending. More recently I have become addicted to watching process vids on YouTube. I find I do not only watch scrappers who have a similar style to mine but ones who are completely different as no matter what I can still be inspired in some way.

6. What is my signature style?
I don't quite know how to describe my style. I'm a lover of layers and clusters, but I also love my pages to have an element of white space and balance. I think my style is certainly more 'clean' than a majority of Aussie scrappers who are leaning more towards the mixed media style.

So there you have it, now you know a little about my creative side, its time to get to know 3 very talented and gorgeous ladies who I am ever so pleased are joining me on this blog hop. These ladies are all fabulous scrappers in their own right, and I'm so excited they've agreed to join in :)

I have since swayed her to scrapbooking and encouraged her scrapping habit. Of late, she has rekindled a love of traditional scrapping and is scrapping up a storm. She has been sharing a heap of her recent creations on her blog so make sure you check it out.

Whats been happening here?

Hey everyone,

So much has been happening here in preparation for Baby no.2. I have managed to get some scrapbooking in but all for secret projects I am not able to share.

I have slowly been crossing things off my what seems like a never-ending list!

One of those things being getting my girls big girl room ready. She is not quite ready for the toddler bed yet, but is enjoying playing in there in the meantime

I worked on and finished a project featuring Couture Creations dies and embossing folders using a gorgeous Glitz Design range called 'Black & White'

And today I have been enjoying the latest 'Scrapbooking Memories' magazine where I was lucky enough to have some scrapping work in there, but also my wooden veneer featured for A Piece of Cake Designs!

I'm looking forward to getting into my crafty space again, especially since it won't be long before we have another little bubba demanding some love and attention in this household!

Be back soon, take care

Before I leave check out Tarrah's blog, she has kindly chosen me to join in a blog hop with a difference. Check back on Monday to see my post here on my blog :)

My amazing news! I am a Glitz girl :)

Hey everyone,

I am so excited to share this post today. I have in recent days made some changes to my blog design which you may have noticed. One of which is my 'resume' page which I can now add 'Glitz Design' creative team member to :)

I was in a state of disbelief really when I got an email asking me to join the Glitz Creative team. I have been a long time lover of Glitz and know that Glitz Design products are products I truly will love to represent and hopefully inspire others with along the way too.

I join the team along with an AMAZINGLY TALENTED bunch of ladies and I think thats why I wasn't quite sure if the email was real or a hoax.
