Jot Magazine - Favourite Photo Gallery

Hey everyone

Tonight I am here to share a layout with you that I created for Jot Magazine for the Favourite Photo Gallery.

Incase you haven't seen the latest issue yet, check it out by clicking the cover below

Here is my layout: My Heart is Full

This photo was taken of my little man on a recent 'Cake Smash' that I had with him for his first birthday. His party had a little man theme and I just loved this shot I managed to capture. He was not impressed with the stick on 'mo' and it literally lasted on him for maybe 20 seconds, so I am glad I snapped this one within that time.

I wanted the photo to be a feature of the layout, this is why I completed a large photo layout. With that my focus, I decided to utilise the white space to the right of the photo to embellish on. I gathered a variety of mint, black and white embellishments for this.

It was fun to sift through my supplies and find embellishments to match my colour theme. I adhered them with a variety of adhesives and dimensions.

The journaling...

I hope you have enjoyed seeing a different type of layout from me today.

I will be back soon with more shares :)

Pink Paislee - Ways with Washi tape and Cedar Lane

Hey everyone

Its all about Washi Tape this week on the Pink Paislee Blog and today I am sharing a layout that I created with you.

I wanted to create a vertical design, and fill in the 'gaps' with the washi tape strips and shapes. I love how it turned out.

Here is some close ups!

I happened to film myself creating this one and put together a process video. Reminder for the future though, do not record when feeling tired or emotional or both! Apologies for the flatness but you get the idea of my process anyways!

Jot Magazine - 'Details' Mixed Media Gallery

Hey everyone

Today I am here to share a layout that can be seen in Issue 11 of Jot Magazine. You can click the cover below to read the magazine.

Here is my layout which can be found in the Mixed Media Gallery

Layout title: Details

When it comes to mixed media I use a subtle but effective approach. I love the look of soft watercolours that compliment patterned papers and a white on white stencilled look.

I decided to do a distress ink wash/watercolour look on the background. I used the limited edition monthly colour in Cracked Pistachio. Totally love that colour.

To add another texture I grabbed my faithful Whipped Spackle and applied a smooth layer through a text Crafters Workshop stencil. I love the look that the whipped spackle gives, especially against a white background.

This layout was all about my little ones first trip in the trolley together. Jack had not yet been in a trolley before and this particular supermarket has a double trolley which makes the whole shopping experience with kids double the fun right! ha. They had fun and Charlotte was loving having him so close.

On the above pic you can see the subtle effect of the whipped spackle, it is just so devine.

I adored the Happy Things Pink Fresh Studio collection, the papers and embellishments are just so unique and different to anything else on the market and I love that. This paper was just calling for a layout design such as this. The wood veneer add a fun embellishment too!

I added a pop of contrast with the black glittered word from the collection and also india ink splatters. I just love how perfect the splatters look with india ink and a big brush.

I will be back very soon to share more layouts with you, I have been super productive!

Pink Paislee - Its all about the Frames and Gold!

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of I do receive financial compensation and products from American Crafts to develop certain blog posts, but all of the ideas and opinions are my own.

Today I am here to share a layout that I created using the stunning Memorandum collection by Pink Paislee. This collection contains so many fun and UNIQUE embellishments that they really push you to have fun and think outside the box a little.

For my layout today I decided to focus on the stunning frame pack which contains 8 frames in total, 4 small and 4 large, all with different designs. As soon as I received this pack I just knew I had to create with them and focus them on one layout. It not only leads to a lovely grid design, but of course also allows you to document more than one photo.

I created my journaling by typing on American Crafts white card stock and cutting it into a strip design. I love how quick it is to use a typewriter, but I love even more the effect it gives. For the title 'ONE!', I felt like it was not going to make enough impact if I just adhered it straight to the card stock. I decided to create layers with a label, some of the patterned paper and vellum. This gave the title a bit more of a grounding and helps it fit better on the page. I had some American Crafts gold glitter paper in my stash and decided to punch out some circles and stars, to add further gold to the layout and tie the frames in.

I did some layering around one of the frame, adding some punched pieces, clear stickers, and other embellishments from the collection. I used the negative spots on the frame to add elements like the date.

The design of the patterned paper was a strip design that combined prints from all the papers in the collection. I decided to use both sides of that paper in a vertical design. I love how easily that let me incorporate a variety of colours into the layout.

My favourite part of this layout would definitely have to be the frames. They are so shiny and pretty. It was super easy for me to find photos that fit within the frames. I adhered one to the card stock with foam tape to pop it off the page and make it stand out that little more.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I hope you have learned a fun way of using the frames and papers in this collection.

Pink Paislee - A Memorydex makes me Happy!

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of I do receive financial compensation and products from American Crafts to develop certain blog posts, but all of the ideas and opinions are my own.

I am here today to share some Memorandum Memorydex inspiration using the super fun Memorydex Spinner by Heidi Swapp.

Memorandum & the Memorydex Spinner - Makes me Happy @raquelLbowman @pinkpaislee #pinkpaislee #ppmemorandum #memorandum #memorydex #homedecor
I decided to use my Memorydex spinner to document the everyday moments that make me smile when I revisit them through photos.

Memorandum & the Memorydex Spinner - Makes me Happy @raquelLbowman @pinkpaislee #pinkpaislee #ppmemorandum #memorandum #memorydex #homedecor
I added the Memorandum Clear MemoryDex Card Titled ‘Our Story’ directly in front of the January memorydex tab to signal the beginning of my spinner. I love the crisp, clean and simple design of this as a starting point.
Memorandum & the Memorydex Spinner - Makes me Happy @raquelLbowman @pinkpaislee #pinkpaislee #ppmemorandum #memorandum #memorydex #homedecorI used the Heidi Swapp Memorydex metal dies to cut my photos into the Memorydex card shape. For each photo I backed them with a Memorandum patterned paper.

For this card I embellished the image by simply adding a label cut from one of the Memorandum papers, a camera (also cut from one of the papers) which I popped up using an American Crafts Sticky Thumb glue dot, and a Puffy Sticker star. I love that this is simple but adds that little bit of detail so the image is still the main focus.

The clear transparent Memorydex cards like this xoxo are perfect for layering on top of photos for a different look. I love that I get a peek of one of those happy memories without seeing the whole thing.
Memorandum & the Memorydex Spinner - Makes me Happy @raquelLbowman @pinkpaislee #pinkpaislee #ppmemorandum #memorandum #memorydex #homedecorFor this card I chose to use the purple memorydex card from Memorandum as my background. I also used my Heidi Swapp 'happy' word die.
Memorandum & the Memorydex Spinner - Makes me Happy @raquelLbowman @pinkpaislee #pinkpaislee #ppmemorandum #memorandum #memorydex #homedecorBetween the moments I have documented, I have added cards from the Heidi Swapp Memorydex collection and also the new cards from the Pink Paislee Memorandum collection. This adds a fun element of interaction with the spinner and adds further detail.
Memorandum & the Memorydex Spinner - Makes me Happy @raquelLbowman @pinkpaislee #pinkpaislee #ppmemorandum #memorandum #memorydex #homedecorI adore this card and I think it is because this cheeky little face always makes me smile.

This is another one of my favourites and it is simply again because this little man just makes me smile.
Memorandum & the Memorydex Spinner - Makes me Happy @raquelLbowman @pinkpaislee #pinkpaislee #ppmemorandum #memorandum #memorydex #homedecorThe clear stickers are perfect for adding on top of photos as they are transparent so the detail of the photo can be seen, but add a nice little embellishment. The washi tape also has a transparent quality so it is fun to layer on the photos too.
Memorandum & the Memorydex Spinner - Makes me Happy @raquelLbowman @pinkpaislee #pinkpaislee #ppmemorandum #memorandum #memorydex #homedecorThis card was another one where I delved into some of my Citrus Bliss stash to embellish. The background card is from Memorandum and I am totally IN LOVE with that floral print. I think I need a handful of that patterned paper alone in my stash!
Memorandum & the Memorydex Spinner - Makes me Happy @raquelLbowman @pinkpaislee #pinkpaislee #ppmemorandum #memorandum #memorydex #homedecorThis card is a slight visual illusion. It looks like it is a gold striped printed patterned paper card. However it is a clear acetate gold striped paper, with a printed card underneath. I loved how the card underneath really helped the diagonal stripe pop. I embellished this card using layers of the labels, the clear stickers and a couple of Citrus Bliss Stickers.

I hope you have seen how fun this spinner is and also some ideas for creating and embellishing Memorydex cards. They are a quick and fun way to document those moments that make you smile.

American Crafts Guest - Shine using Rise & Shine and True Stories

Tonight I am sharing my last contribution for my guest design spot on the  American Crafts blog. The theme is Fun in the Sun!

For this layout I delved back into my stash of pics of hubby an I. This one was taken during our engagement shoot and I just love it. I used a mix of Amy Tangerine and Shimelle for this one and a cut file from the Cut Shoppe.

That cloud vellum Is just so cute, I cut it out and layered it as an embellishment. I must say since receiving some of these goodies from AC I have a new found obsession with the wood buttons….I think I will now be getting them from any future AC collections.

I layered a banner from the Shimelle cut apart papers. I added it to a handmade vellum banner for a touch of softness.

Thanks for visiting today. I will be back very soon sharing some Jot layouts!
