Hip Kit Club October 2015 - Hello Cake

Hey everyone,
Today I am here to share a layout inspired by this stunning Mood Board! I just loved the gold dipped pumpkin, the dimensional look of the leaves, the feathers in the dream catcher and the colour combo of gold and teal in the bottom left corner. So basically, they are what I worked off.

Here is what I created:

This photo is from my little mans cake smash I did with him. Loved all the pics and the teal colours of the papers work so well with the cake.

I adore the teal/black/gold combinations that could be gathered from the kits. I created using all the kits and only added a few things from my stash; some whipped spackle, a couple of chippy hearts, a doily, a peg and some stamps and ink.

The title was created using the Thickers packs in the main kit. I am totally in love with both packs equally and love the look of the titles when they are combined.

Again I added my typewritten journalling. I always try and tell the stories on the page. I know that if I do not document them they will be lost. I also added a heart from the Pink Paislee ephemera (shhh, it is actually covering a major ink boo boo!) and then a punched the three arrows from a scrap of gold I had.

For the vertical strip down the side of the paper I used two of the patterned papers in the main and then a scrap of another to punch a binding edge punch. In the bottom right, that binding edge is the negative waste piece, but I decided it would look cute as a layer there. I also added a touch of the washi from the Jen Hadfield book.

The title/journal cluster was finished with some watercolours using the pencils in the colour add on. Oh my gosh, I am in love with how easy these are to use. I think I am a little addicted and already am planning to use them on the next page on my desk.

The feathers are a cut file exclusive to Hip Kits. I cut them out and embossed the ends. I also cut out the little Fox from a 3x4" journal card in the Project Life kit. He is so cute and had that touch of teal. The leaf clip was just too cute not to add.

The photo layer was a combination of the patterned papers, a 4x6" project life card, a doily and some punched pieces to add further layers.

I added a gold dipped peg from my stash and some Pink Paislee embellishments. I also added a touch of black mist and stamping.

The exclusive mask in the colour kit is just perfect for this page. I adore using masks with whipped spackle, it gives such a beautiful texture.

Now these Prima pencils! Oh my, don't think I could love them anymore. It is amazing how easy these are to use and for a neat mixed media girl like me, they have stolen my heart

Thanks for visiting my blog today, I hope this has inspired you to create using the Mood Board for October :)

Hip Kits Club - Fave Photo; October 2015

Hey everyone,  I'm here today with my first project I created with Hip Kit Club kits. I am SO excited to be contributing to this team!

I am here to share a 12×12 layout that I created using the October Main Kit and the October 2015 Cut File designed by Ashley Horton.
Here is what I created:

I had wanted to scrapbook this photo of my daughter ever since I took it. I just could not believe how grown up she looks in this picture considering she is only 2 and a half years old here. I loved the cut file by Ashley, however, the ‘fall’ theme did not suit my picture. So I decided to open up my Silhouette software and delete any of the ‘FALL Y’ALL’ words. This left me with a staggered ‘happy’ cut file background which I am really happy with.

I also created a You Tube Process Video for this layout:

Here are some close ups:

I can’t wait to share what else I have been creating using the kits!

Jot Magazine - Just my Type

Hey everyone

I am back to share a layout from Issue 11 of Jot Magazine. This was from the 'Just my Type' gallery. I thought that the Simple Stories 'I am' collection would be perfect for this. I am so happy with how it turned out.

And some close ups:

Will be back soon with more shares xxx

Pink Paislee - Charlotte is 3

Hey everyone,
Today I am here to share something a little different. This past week we celebrated our little girls 3rd Birthday. She wanted to have a princess party. Being the crafty Mumma that I am an event doesn't seem to go by where I do not create something for it. This birthday was no exception, pink and gold and princesses, how perfect!  However, this craft experience was made a lot easier with the Pink Paislee Party Craft kit and Banner Kit.

Here is the unboxing video I created and a share of my projects:

And a closer look into the special days preparations:

These Bon App├ętit Placemats are just stunning. I used them under some of the food plates on the main table.

I totally adored the 'hooray' cake topper in the kit. I was making a dolly varden cake for the birthday girl so I knew that the topper wouldn't work on the actual cake. Then I had the idea to add it to the back of the lightbox with a couple of stars. Love love love the look this gave.

As you could see in the video. I adapted the contents of the box to suit my needs for the party. I used the base cupcake topper stickers (the gold and white stickers) for our cupcake toppers, but included a touch of pink card stock from my stash. I love my cameo, it makes things like this so easy.

The colours in the Banner pack did not quite suit the birthday theme. But I loved the gold edges banners and the gold chipboard words. To help it suit our theme and colourings all I needed to do was trace around the included banners onto a card stock of my choice and make my own. Just perfect, and so easy!

I added a castle to the first and last card of the banner, just to continue the theme.

She's not perfect but I was pretty proud to have made the cake.

And whats a birthday blog post without the birthday girl xxx She had such a lovely day. A day and celebration fit for a princess

Pink Paislee - Snuggled Up with Cedar Lane

Hey everyone, I'm here today with a layout for the Pink Paislee Fall Inspiration Week. In Australia we are currently enjoying the spring sunshine. So I dug into my pics from earlier this year and found these of my little man. I really wanted to document these photos as this little scarf was knitted by a great Aunt who has now departed. When he wears the scarf it is a reminder and piece of her present in our lives, it just makes me smile.

This layout was inspired by the large leaves in fellow design team member Brenda Smith’s Fall Wreath that you can see on her blog here.

Here it is:

The leaves were cut on my silhouette cameo using a cut file from the silhouette store.

The die cut ephemera were perfect to layer and cluster on this page. I love that the packs are a mixture of acetate and card stock pieces, some are even foiled and glittered!

The importance of this page for me is really about documenting my little man wearing this scarf that has sentimental value to us. I typed the journaling on my typewriter and adhered it to the page in strips.

I have been drawn to tags lately, so I layered one of the woven tags and a tag from the ephemera to the right of the photo. Again, I added a mixture of ephemera and puffy stickers. I even managed to sneak that cute little fox onto the page!

Sometimes all a page needs is a little splatter of mist and a bit of staggered stamping. I used my fave Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Gold Lame. I love the dimension this page has, not only on the group of photos but the dimensional look achieved by the leaves.

I also recorded the process of creating this page for you to view. I'm really enjoying creating the videos and hopefully I am getting better at the whole process.
