Pink Paislee - A Baptism Mini Album using Citrus Bliss

Today I am here to share a special project I created using the Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss collection. Isn't it just beautiful?!?

I decided to use the Gold 4x4 album to document my babies Baptism. When I say babies, I mean my children ha. They are now 2 and a half and NEARLY 1 year old. Time flies! Anyways, this was the first time I had created an album in this size and I must say I loved it!

I loved the convenience of printing the Instagram size pictures at a 4x4 size. It meant all I simply had to do was add a little embellishing and my journaling to the pages.

Here is the front of the album:

I used the stunning Gold Alphas in the collection as well as the chipboard frames in the chipboard pack. The 'xoxo' within the frame is actually a 4x4 insta card cut down. I backed the title 'baptism' on Vellum so it had something to adhere it to the cover.

This is the cover at a closer view. I also added a die cut tag I made with a tag die set and my cuttlebug, and a circular layer cut also on my cuttlebug. Purely to add more detail to that little cluster.

What I loved about the album was that you could have things sticking out of the pockets like tags and they are still well contained within the albums covers.

This is my title page, when I saw the veneer I thought it was literally perfect for this 'the perfect day' and it truly was. We were very blessed. A couple of layers of patterned paper behind the veneer and some chipboard hearts and it was done.

A closer view. I love this picture I snapped of my 2 kiddies before we left the house that morning.

I chose to use the 6x6 Paper Pad to create some of the 4x4 cards to fit within the pockets. I loved this pink designed paper. The label was cut from a 12x12 paper also. I added the C to the photo to represent her name.

And my little mans page. I used a touch of the pineapple vellum, but covered up a majority of the print due to it not really matching with the theme but wanting to add a layer of softness there. The blue patterned paper circle was leftover from another project and added another nice layer.

For our family photo I layered the acetate tag from the ephemera with a circle journal spot cut from a 12x12 paper and a chipboard piece. I love being able to easily and quickly type journaling on a portable typewriter and I prefer the look of strip journaling. The bonus with typing journaling in strips is that if you make a mistake you can just retype it without worrying about ruining what you are journaling on.

For this card, I used a 4x4 card from the Insta pack plus a glitter word. I loved the softness of this.

I created a little insert out of vellum, I made it the same height and width as an entire pocket. I then used my 'document' Heidi Swapp die and cut it onto a Bazzill foam 12x12 sheet. To attach this into the vellum I simply stapled it, then punched 2 holes to add it to my album. It is just purely for a little fun element in the album, it does not really suit any other purpose, ha.

As well as my children being Baptised I also confirmed my faith too. Something I am so grateful to have done. I stuck the 'life is good' puffy sticker directly on top of my photo there. I also created some hidden journaling on a tag that can be pulled out and read.

This page contained two photos and was embellished quite simply by using ephemera and paper scraps.

Simply adding a chipboard sticker/ephemera piece to a busy photo can be embellishment enough. Sometimes less is more!

I created another transparent element using the 4x4 card from the insta pack, a tag I die cut and embossed, some scrap paper, and puffy stickers. I cut the word 'happy' using a Heidi Swapp die and a piece of the 6x6 paper pad. I think this is one of my favourite parts of the album.

Pictures of the children when we were celebrating back at home. Very simple embellishing here, but I certainly wanted the focus to remain on the children.

We had such a lovely day and I am so pleased that I was able to get this memory recorded so quickly after the event (that never happens for me! ha). I think it was purely due to the ease of the 4x4 album size. Now my family has a little memento to look back on and see our special day.

Thanks for visiting my blog today, I would love to hear from you so don't forget to leave me a comment.

Cocoa Vanilla Studio - Jack's First Birthday

Hey everyone,

I'm here with a different kind of project share today.

It is hard for me to believe but my little man is going to be ONE this week! Seriously, where does time go? I cannot believe how quickly the year has flown.

As you can imagine, I am starting to get into full party mode composing my to-do lists, working out the number of guests, food I need to make and of course the fun decorations! That is where the 'Made of Awesome' collection comes in.

PRODUCTS USED: Made of Awesome - Rockstar Patterned Paper, Made of Awesome Directions Patterned Paper, Made of Awesome Flair Buttons. OTHER: White card stock, Black card stock, tooth picks, skewers.

We are having a 'little man' theme; so think moustaches and bow ties. I wanted to create some cupcake toppers, his cake smash and main cake topper, some straw decorations and also a cute banner to go above the party table.

Here are the finished products:

Thanks to the gorgeous papers in this collection, my Silhouette Cameo and some punches from my stash I was able to create some unique pieces for my little mans birthday table.
raquelbowman-birthdaymadeofawesome-4-1000pxI created both the 'One' and 'Jack' toppers using my Silhouette.
raquelbowman-birthdaymadeofawesome-5-1000px
I also created a straw topper by finding a paper straw that matched the greys in the Directions patterned paper and using my silhouette cameo to cut a variety of moustaches.

The cupcake wrappers and toppers add a special touch to any cake table.

I created a cute banner over 1metre in length by cutting a number of bow ties from both white card stock and the Directions patterned paper.

Here they are again: raquelbowman-birthdaymadeofawesome-7-1000px
It is so much fun to create items like this for special events. And what is even better is that your celebration has that special handmade touch. Is there anything better?

Hey everyone,

I'm here today to share with you day 9 of the Summer Adventure Series using the Atlas Collection by Pink Paislee.

I decided to dip into my Summer photos from January and find one of my favourite captured moments to document. This photo was taken one night at our local beach when we made a trip in to have some dinner as a family. We treated our little girl to an ice-cream after dinner and it was so gorgeous to see her sharing with her Daddy.

I will admit it now, I am one of those Mummys that permanently has my camera out, Mummarazzi don't they call us? But being a scrapbooker I just do not want to miss documenting any everyday or special moments like this one. I thought the colours in the Altitude patterned paper were just gorgeous for this black and white photo. The pastel goodness of the papers just reminded me of ice-creamy
goodness!

When I saw this Altitude paper it was screaming at me to cut it in a triangular way. I love when papers inspire my layout design and this was surely one of those times.

This cluster contains a variety of embellishments from the collection; travel tags, chipboard pieces and ephemera - all layered to achieve a dimensional look. I finished the cluster off by adding some stars and dots from the chipboard and enamel shapes packs.

The 3x4" card from the Take Flight patterned paper and the X Marks the Spot travel tag were a perfect layering element. For this particular layout they do not serve a functional purpose but are purely as a layer to add some detail to my photo cluster.

Cocoa Vanilla Studio - A layout using 'Hello Lovely'

Hey everyone,

I'm here today with a layout share using the gorgeous Hello Lovely collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I thought this collection went beautifully with the series of photos that I took for my daughters first birthday cake smash. In this picture she is holding and eating a chunk of the super sweet icing. I wanted to document how she has a sweet tooth just like her Mummy!

I followed a circular type design on this page. I have more details on the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog with how I create this page.

I had been eyeing off the ‘sweet’ word in the ephemera pack since receiving this collection. I adore the font and knew it would work perfectly within a title.

I tend to add 3 clusters to my page, or work in threes in general. For example 3 small embellishments; 2 enamel dots and one veneer as pictured below, or three small groups of embellishments in a triangle pattern. An easy way to adhere the ephemera tabs to your layout is to simply staple them to the page.
hello sweet tooth-1000px-2
I created a journaling tag using the Flower Patch patterned paper and a tag die from my stash. To make sure my journaling tag did not fall out of the left side of the pocket I added a cluster of embellishments.
hello sweet tooth-1000px-3
I added some black ink spots to my page using my Heidi Swapp Black Colourshine. It helped to bring in the pops of black within the embellishments, title and patterned paper.
hello sweet tooth-1000px-4
As you can see from the image below I added a doily and vellum from my stash. I love the softness and layers that it adds to my pages and I cannot seem to create a page without a combination of them. I added the photo mat onto the page with foam tape to add a little pop.

I just adored creating this page and hope you like it too :)
