Hello C & J with the January Hip Kits

Hey everyone, I'm stopping by my blog with a new layout share today featuring the January Hip Kits.  for this page today I wanted to document a series of photos I took of my kiddies when I was trying to snap a nice photo of the two of them together. The photos go through a succession of my daughter cuddling my son maybe a little too much ha. I really wanted to just document the real moment of that one photo I was trying to get, which in this case was the third photo from the top.

To create this layout I stuck with a vertical design and created a feature with the Heidi Swapp Golden frames that came in the Project Life add on. I also used the cork embellishment pack as a main feature which are from the American Crafts Hazelwood collection. I love how they have the pastel painted accents to them. They complimented the exclusive hip kit floral paper beautifully.

The cork 'hello' word really stands out on the page. I was able to nestle it between two of the frames. I used the studio calico/seven paper alphas to just add the kids initials.

The die cut florals that feature on this layout were actually fussy cut from one of the Project Life 4x6 cards. I also added one of the butterfly rub ons from Hazelwood that I applied to a piece of white card stock and fussy cut around.

The photo below of my children looking is the one I was originally wanting to capture. So to highlight that photo on the page I added foam adhesive behind it for some added dimension. I also used the arrows from the cork pack and the pencil Hazelwood sticker as a directional tool.

My journaling is just a brief summary of how hard it is to capture a photo of them both looking at the camera, however, I honestly love the 'in the moment' type shots more. I typed my journaling and adhered it in strip form.

Some of the embellishments like the frames themselves and the cork were layered on top of each other, creating a lot of added dimension to the page.

I hope this page has given you an idea for how you can use the frames and cork pieces on your layouts.
