#YouAreRad - Boy's Rule by Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hey everyone, I'm here with you today sharing my latest layout using the Boy’s Rule collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

This is the second page I have created with this collection and again I was blown away by how easily the layouts are coming together. The variety of embellishments gave me everything I need and I am totally loving this colour combo too.

Anyways, here is the layout that I created:

And a process video for how it came together:

Of course the subject for this layout was my cheeky little man Jack. Here are a couple of close ups of the layout, if you want to see more you can check it out over on the CVS blog:

For the title on the page I couldn’t go past the statement title from the chipboard pack, #you are rad. I thought it was so bold and it fitted perfectly along the right side of my page in a vertical orientation. I used the stitching lines around the perimeter of the layout to rest my letters on.

I hope that this layout has inspired you today – don’t forget to tag Cocoa Vanilla Studio when you share your creations and join us over in the ‘Cocoa Vanilla Studio Community’ on Facebook too.

Dream Big for Sizzix Lifestyle

Hey everyone, I'm popping in again today to share a new layout with you. This layout features one of the Big Shot Plus thinlits dies called Large Dream Catcher and the Bohemian Dream collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Ideally, this die is to be made into a dreamcatcher, however I chose to make the circular doily style design into a feature on a scrapbook layout. I am documenting a very recent photo of my little girl, boy she is growing up soo quick! I have also used one of the smaller floral dies in the Funky Florals thinlits die set to embellish the page and add those finishing touches.

You can see more detailed shots of how this layout came together on my post over on the Sizzix Lifestyle Making Journal

Keep reading to see my layout and also the two ways you can win gift certificates to spend in the Altenew Store

Before I begin you can see the entire June Release, click HERE. I have also teamed my projects with the 'Our Family' scrapbooking collection from the store.

Ok now lets get onto the making, here is the layout I created.

Here is a process video for how this layout came together:

I am documenting a beautiful gesture by one of my colleagues at work today. Sometimes a little act of kindness can change your whole mindset and set you back on the right track. To help the photo stand out as the feature for the layout I used the new Party Banner Die, but instead turned that into a tag and added some ribbon to the top.

I stamped the Climbing Clematis stamp set onto white textured card stock and clustered those to the right of the photo. I stamped with pink and purple inks to coordinate best with my photo.

Other embellishments on the page were from the Our Family kit, including the fussy cut florals cut from one of the papers in the kit.

Here is a close up of the journaling, I used my typewriter to document this story.

The textured card stock adds a subtle detail to the stamped florals that I like the look of. I also love the stamped florals when they have that white border around them, I think it really helps them to stand out.

There are two ways you can enter this hop today!

You're Pretty Rad - Boy's Rule by Cocoa Vanilla

Hey everyone, I'm here today sharing my first layout featuring the amazing new boys collection ‘Boy’s Rule’. It is no secret that I just adore each and every boys collection of products that are released by Cocoa Vanilla, but I do admit, I think this has to be my favourite one by far!

Here is the layout that I created:

Of course I had to document my cheeky little man Jack, just look at that face! This photo was taken only a couple of weeks ago when I took him to a park. You can tell by the smile on his face hope much fun he had! The main design of this page is based around an exclamation mark cut file which I downloaded for free from the Paper Issues store. Since the cut file is circular in design our eyes are drawn to the central point of the circle. I knew that was where I needed to place my photo as I always like to have my photo as the main focal point on a scrapbook page.

Here are some close ups of the layout:

I wasn’t going to – but I couldn’t resist adding the crown to the top of my little mans head.

I hope this layout has inspired you today. I had a ball today using the Boys Rule collection and will be back soon!

Build-A-Flower: Larkspur Release - Altenew

Hey everyone, I am excited to be a Guest for Altenew today. Each month they release a new Build-a-Flower design and today I am sharing a project with the latest release called - Build-a-Flower: Larkspur.

Here is a look at the 6x8 stamp set:

Here is my completed layout using the set - Sit back and Relax

To create this page I used the 3x4" cards in the Our Family Scrapbook Kit. I am not a Project Life-r so using the cards on a layout seemed like the perfect solution to getting them used. I guess I really took a different approach to the usual with this kit as ideally these stamps are 'build a flower' and are meant to be layered. However, today I will be showing you an alternate way to use them.

To do this I took the outline of the flower stamp from the set and stamped that onto the concentrated colour area on 5 of the cards. I wanted a variety of colours so I made sure to choose ones that I thought would look effective in the floral shape. I then did the same with the leaves outline, but used the green toned 3x4" cards to stamp onto.

These next two photos give you a good look at the finished floral pieces:

On this layout I am documenting a recent getaway I had to a crafting retreat. I do not 'get away' very often, certainly not without children so it was lovely to spend time with amazing people getting, getting cooked for and crafting the weekend away. It was the most beautiful tropical destination and I felt like this floral design complimented the photo well.

The sentiments in the stamp set were also perfect for the moment that I was documenting. I chose to document this photo purely because I thought the florals would look nice with it, so it was a lovely surprise when I realised that the sentiments were a great match too!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. To celebrate the release of this stamp set Altenew are running a little giveaway.
