December - Kraft it Up challenge

This month the challenge at Kraft it Up is to create a layout using and displaying our wish for christmas, including the use of kraft cardstock of course.

So, with the purchase of my new cameo and photos galore of my little girl I came up with this layout.

Layout title: Make Memories

Close up of journaling:

My cameo title and gorgeous girl:

My cameo tree :) I also added dylusions spray to the sc mistable tree then finished it off with some diamond dust so it sparkles.

Products Used: Kraft cardstock, Black cardstock, Crate Paper paper, Crate Paper stickers, Studio Calico mistable shape, chipboard flourish, Little Yellow Bicycle journaling spot, Hambly Screen Print transparency, Heidi Swapp Instaframe, Pink Paislee die cuts, Maya Road die cuts, red string, D-lish Designs washi tape, D-lish Designs resin flower, black pen, staples.

Thats my share for today :)  Hope you like it!
I'll be back again to share more creations soon.

Oh and can't leave without sharing Santa's little angel!

Creating and loving it :)

I don't know if my recent scrapping mojo is an influence of this baby

Or my gorgeous new subject

But WHATEVER it is, I am loving it!

Lately, well throughout pregnancy anyway - I was finding it hard to scrap and be happy with the pages. Now, I am actually liking the pages I am doing.

Last night I spent an hour working on a page for the current Kraft it Up challenge, I always reach for Kraft as a base (my 'mojo layouts' have all been kraft - I think because it goes so well with my black cardstock silhouette cuts) so thought I may as well give a challenge a go :)

Here is a sneak to my creative mess - as the page isn't done yet, have to add the final touches

I love how instagram can make my bombsite of a desk look cute and airy fairy. In reality it looked like this

Yesterday was my first day wrapping presents for Christmas. So time consuming!

I chose this year a cool colour combo of typo papers

If you get a chance pop into a store and read the speech bubbles on the printed one! Slightly funny but definitely adults only content ha. I have to make sure Grandmas present doesn't get wrapped in that one!

I've been thinking more about doing Project Life in the new year. I think it will definitely be something I'll work on. But I'm trying to figure out if I should do both of the following:

- a project life album (weekly updates and documenting for the year) As well as traditional layouts throughout

- Charlotte's album - which will be a mix of everyday layouts and project life style ones.

My only question is- will I be able to find time to do all this? I'm incredibly behind (haven't started) officially documenting the pregnancy and Charlie's first 10 weeks of life. I don't want to set myself up to fail really.

Hmm something to think about!

A proper crafty share is coming very soon :)

Busy bee here...

Well, I finally got in my creative space! Our little girl is now 10 weeks and things are getting better and allowing me to have more time to myself - even if it is between 8 and 11 each night haha.

I finally christened my Silhouette Cameo. I am in LOVE! There are no limits to this machine and my 'mojo' is flowing.

Unfortunately, the crafting I am doing has been for commissions or secret squirrel work so I can't share yet but I'll share a couple of sneaks :)

Testing out the machine :)

A commissioned sneak :)

Getting photos ready with the convenient picture mate

An update wouldn't be complete without some pictures of my little Charlie Roo

Haha ... Really?

That's better

Some exciting things happening here, can't wait to share!

December SUYS :) and some other things...

Photobucket

Have you seen Decembers SUYS Challenge, its a nice easy one!

Scrap a Christmas photo using non traditional colours!

The sponsors this month are 2 Crafty and Deer and Fawn. 2 Craft are donating a $30 prize pack and Deer and Fawn a $10 voucher. All you need to win is follow the above criteria and make sure you add a handmade embellishment to your page :)

My sample is going to be revealed mid month and I will share here of course too.

I have been busy reorganising my craft room so that I could get in there and create. Charlotte has started to be more settled and this is allowing me to have small blocks of time free where instead of cleaning or cooking I could have some 'me' time. But before I did that I needed to clean and sort that space I call my scrapbooking room.

I'm loving it so far, though there is still some sorting to be done...

Finally pictures on the walls!

My silhouette and matching typewriter ... hoping to have a play with the silhouette this weekend, I've had it a few weeks now and haven't used it

My new trolley with my mixed media supplies in it and my cute pink TV from Aldi.

So what do you think?

Cannot believe it is nearly christmas and I have been trying to do some shopping online, if anyone knows of any good online stores for pressies would love to hear about them.

My little girl is getting bigger and bigger - she is 2 months old already!

She has made so many changes; is smiling now, talking a little bit, kicking her legs and getting bigger day by day! Love her to pieces <3 p="p">

Anyways, I'm feeling creative so might go play!

Few days left to enter at SUYS

Have you seen this months challenge over at 'Show us your stuff'?

The challenge for November is:
Use the colour YELLOW + washi tape!!

You only have a few days left to enter, click the logo above to see the design team examples and entries so far.

WOW! Where has the last month gone!?!

I really can't believe how quickly time is going lately. I only feel like my little Charlotte Ruby was born a couple of weeks ago. Today she was 7 weeks old, not far away from 2 months! Its already going too quick.

I had a play with my DSLR and photoshop and did a little photoshoot with her a couple of weeks ago. Heres a 2 pics from it (my faces), hopefully I will get to scrap them soon!

Isn't she just the most precious thing?

What else to add? Although I am not working as such, being a mum is def. a 24 hour job. I have not had time to do anything really lately that even resembles scrapping, though I sure will have plenty of photos to scrap when I'm ready and have the time.

Due to lack of time and because there is so much I want to document for Charlotte, I have decided to begin trying out the 'Project Life' style approach to scrapping (with the help from a good friend Michelle). Of course I will still scrap too! But not using just the official products, but mainly my scrapping stash.

I found this video which explains briefly the vision behind project life from the creator.

Here are some examples I found on Pinterest that I liked that use reg. scrapping supplies

Such a nice way to document the every day.....so, for me this means 7 weeks of Charlottes life to catch up on! I really need to get into that craft room of mine and sort it out, in the state it's in I have 'scrappers block' and won't be ok until it is better. And the photos are piling up, the evidence is in my instagram account here or you can access and check it out from my sidebar.

There are so many high expectations put on mothers with newborns, I am finding it all quite insane....questions like -  Are you breastfeeding? Are her feet cold? Is she hungry? Is she warm enough? are questions that I hear all the time, even from people I do not know. I have decided to take on board what people say, try not to be offended, and just keep doing what I think is right for us. And we are plodding along nicely, with a few stumbles along the way. Overanalysing things tends to make me stress and therefore not enjoy the amazing miracle I now have in my life. Things like breast feeding for instance, it is not coming quite so easily to me although I am trying 150% to make it work. The pressure of wanting to continue, feeling like I have to continue can get a bit much at times. Even though Charlotte is perfectly fine when she has either b/milk or formula.....A good question someone reminded me of....as adults would be know who was breast fed and who was not? Sort of doesn't make me feel as bad.

Anyways, I also now have one of these babies

And it is still in it's box in my kitchen! Can't wait to get this out and play...after looking in the gallery at Studio Calico, I really think this machine could transform my scrapping, but for the better! The ideas are brimming :)

Anyways, my little kit club has its next sale Monday 22nd - this Monday coming. This is the kit:

I am so in love with this one, it is available here www.apieceofcakedesigns.com.au on Monday at 8pm (Melb time).

Until next time, (hopefully not as long between posts!)

Please welcome ...

Clint and I are pleased to announce the arrival of our gorgeous little girl 'Charlotte Ruby' - Born on 5th October weighing a healthy 7.5pounds.

The weeks gone have been filled with cuddles, tears (from everyone), dirty nappies, infections, appointments and many smiles.

Now I see what everyone was talking about when they said the birth of your child will change your life! Yes, mine changed the instant she came into this world. It's amazing the love that you can feel for something so small that has only just come into your life. Do not know what we would do without her now, and although it's proved hard at times already (late nights, no sleep, troubles feeding), she is now our world and we will always do whatever we can to make sure that she is happy.

Here are some pictures of her journey so far. Coming to scrapbook pages one day - lol. When I have time for me-

After she was born.

Before her first bath

First bath at the hospital -

Proud mummy-

No sleep was beginning to take its toll - snuggle time

Starting to enjoy baths :)

Looks so small in her BIG BED

Cheeky face -

Tried to avoid it - but we welcomed Mr Dummy - has helped to settle her when she has pains.

Loving bath time now! So content after too - thinking we may need to try this when she is hard to settle at night.

With all that hair she can rock a headband! 12 days old here.

She pulls the funniest faces lately - our lil fish face - 2 weeks old

Hands always by her head while sleeping if she is not swaddled.

So quiet and content after her bath again. Looking more and more like her Daddy just take away the dark hair.

Loves a snuggle and sucking her fingers.

Sometimes will fill herself to the brim lol.

So there you have it. Our little girl. She is definitely keeping me from creating at the moment - but boy when I have time to create, look at all the gorgeous photos I can use, lol.

Looking forward to sharing more soon.

Oh also, if you were interested in the October 'A Piece of Cake Designs' kit - I only have 2 left so you will need to get in quick.
