The Paige Kits by Pink Paislee....a layout share

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of raquelbowman.com. I do receive compensation and material product from Pink Paislee to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

Hey everyone, I'm here with you today sharing a layout I created using the awesome Paige Kits from the Fancy Free collection.

I love that within these kits you get a die cut template, a coordinating patterned paper which replicates that die cut, various ephemera, a title, and even adhesive foam strips. Basically, all you need to create an eye catching layout.

I decided I wanted to adapt this kit to suit my own style so to do this I used my favourite American Crafts heavy weight white textured cardstock to use as my background. I still wanted to use the awesome geometric heart print so I cut around the outline and then adhered it with the foam tape provided to the die cut geometric heart.
I matted my photo on a stunning peach/pink dot paper in the collection. I chose to document a wedding photo for this layout and picked a black and white photo as it gives me the creative option to add any colour palette I like. Plus I love to scrapbook with black and white photos. I also added a doily to add that touch of softness to the page.
When I embellished this page I embellished it in a diagonal direction to even the weight of the busy heart. I used a combination of ephemera from the Paige Kit, acetate and cardstock ephemera, chipboard, buttons, and puffy stickers. Yep, I did go a little layer and embellishment crazy here!

To the top left of the photo I created a small embellishment cluster. It includes the beautiful acetate heart from the ephemera and a silver foil heart. Also a cute button and chipboard cross. I just love how many different embellishments are available to create with in the Fancy Free collection.

To the right of my photo I have layered a couple of the beautiful tags from the ephemera pack. To finish off these tags I simply tied bows to the top using white crochet thread. On top of that I layered a few different ephemera pieces to add a bit of detail. How beautiful are the floral icons in this collection? The “best ever” banner and “wonderful day” puffy sticker finish that small cluster.

I continued embellishing in a diagonal direction to the right of the page to balance the cluster to the left of the photo. I adhered the pieces with a liquid adhesive and the watercolor printed heart was added to the page with a staple. I included a button, chipboard cross, heart and a cardstock “favourite” word banner. To finish this page I added the date using an American Crafts roller date stamp and some silver splatters.

Jot Magazine - Mans best friend gallery; Hello Lola

I am here today to share a layout I created for the Mans Best Friend gallery in the latest Jot Magazine Issue 13. If you haven't seen it yet you can check it out here

As soon as I saw this gallery theme I knew that I wanted to document the photos I had of my little man and our puppy Lola. These two are inseparable and I really wanted to document their little relationship.

After we got our puppy I purchased bits and pieces from the Pet range called Baxter by Studio Calico. Such a cute pet collection and great as the colours are do bright and fun.

Again, I used my typewriter to document my story.

These wood veneer were from the collection too. I also teamed it with the Crate Paper Wonder collection

I did a lot of layers on this one, I just loved all the papers and wanted to include so many of them!

I am also sharing today a process video of how this page came together on my You Tube channel. You can watch it below.

Hi There Sunshine with Cocoa Vanilla

Anyways here is the layout I created:
  hi there sunshine - raquel
I decided to use the light woodgrain as the main patterned paper on this page. I loved the texture on the print and the contrast between that paper and pops of yellow and multi coloured florals.

I used a lot of my foam dot stash for this layout so that I could create different depths and dimension on my layout. I have foam dots the very in thickness which helps me achieve this.

I matted the photo on the yellow solar burst paper and the with the reverse side of that same paper that was remaining from the photo mat strip. I also added one of my favourite doilies from my stash.
  hi there sunshine - raquel-3
The Sunshine wood veneer title originally said 'hello sunshine'. instead, I added the die cut word to say 'hi there sunshine' just for a different look. I am loving the floral ephemera in the pack. They are just so summering and fun!

I couldn't resist adding the fruit wedge as a paper layer to the right of the photo. Although it isn't watermelon it is still a fruit right! ha. I love the dimension that the die cut leaves were able to bring to the page when they you fold them and adhere them. They really pop out! I also did the same to the die cut hearts like the image below.

I'll be back soon to share more!
