Love you - using the new exclusive 'One in a million' by Cocoa Vanilla

Hey everyone, I'm here with you today sharing my latest layout using the limited edition mini collection kit ‘One in a Million’ which is unfortunately now sold out in the CVS store. The theme on the CVS blog this week is hearts and flowers so I have also featured the Colour me Happy cut files on this layout too.

Here is the layout I created:
Here is a process video for how this layout came together:

As you can see I have opted to create an 8.5×11″ layout. I have recently started experimenting with this size and am loving the change. The focus of the layout is a photo that I took of my kiddies just before Fathers Day. I wanted to get a photo of the kids together holding up the sign ‘Best Daddy Ever’ which I could then frame for my husband and give as a gift on Fathers Day. I decided that because this layout was essentially about their love for their dad I could add the flowers, hearts and pinks in; all the things we may think of when we think of love.

The heart cut file and blue banner piece are the main focal point which help draw your eyes to the photo. I backed the heart on the soft pink floral patterned paper. Because I have used a white card stock base I wanted to frame the layout in a coordinating paper. I chose the gorgeous grey and white spot which adds a nice soft touch to the layout while also providing some contrast.

I added clusters of layered embellishments to either side of the photo. I added a floral die cut from the cut file set and pink and red ephemera flowers. I love the pop that the red flowers bring to the page. To finish off that cluster I added a cute bow from the Love Always bits and pieces pack, the ‘xo’ from the Love Always veneer, and some enamel dots from older collections.

For the cluster on the right side of the photo I used the same products as well as a cute little banner attached to the top of the photo with a staple and secured again with a peg, also from the Bits and Pieces pack from Love Always.

Of course I had to add a layer of patterned paper and a doily behind my photo.

Although the layout has a row of horizontal embellishing either side of the photo I still consider this layout to be very much a vertical design. Below the blue banner I add the title which is ‘Love you’ again from the Love Always wood veneer pack. To finish the layout I add a small bit of journaling on a tab from the cut apart sheet and smaller embellishments like the button and enamel dots. I love those finishing touches.

I hope that you have been inspired by my post today. Don’t forget, if you have any questions about anything you see here, please don’t hesitate to ask in the comments or contact me via social media.
