I'm here sharing a layout with you that I created for Selfies week on the Pink Paislee blog.
I dug back into my gorgeous C'est La Vie collection for this one. Of course the subject of this layout is a selfie of myself that I took on my camera phone and edited using an app.
I absolutely adored this triangular design patterned paper ever since I got my hands on this collection and was glad I was able to create a layout featuring it. To create this layout I cut out the white section of the patterned paper with a craft knife. This allowed me to fill that cut out section with my title '32' and journaling.
I added a lot of layers behind my photo on this one as I wanted to keep the layout design quite simple and let the paper dominate the design, but also wanted the layout to still be detailed. The layers provide the detail on this page that I was wanting. I added a border punch to one of the layers to add a different texture. I also fussy cut the florals from one of the papers and added a puffy sticker flower.
To add a little detail to the top layers I added one of the C'est La Vie paper clips to the top left corner of the photo.
You may find that I always add a white border to my photos. The reason I do this is that I love the contrast it brings between the photo and the next layer of patterned paper. If I have a white border it means I can have a busier patterned paper as the next layer as the white breaks the layers up a little.
I typed my journaling onto vellum through my typewriter. I machine stitched the journaling vertically to my page. This added some dimension and helped secure the translucent material to the page.
The '32' were acetate pieces in the ephemera pack. They were the perfect title for this page.
I fussy cut another flower to continue the design element to the bottom of the journaling. I also added an angled strip of the patterned paper to fit in within the angled design of the patterned paper.
